Since then Capcom Unity, an official Capcom blog venue has posted up a countdown which has over 2 days left to with the caption \’Prepare Yourself\’ visible.

Rumor: GTA IV to go open world from the start of game

According to a gaming website, a Rockstar rep has told them that developers are considering the possibility of an open world in GTA IV which is completely unlocked from the beginning of the game.

Rockband available only in bundle form until 2008

It has been revealed that Rock Band will only be available in one flavor from this November and that flavor is sweet and spicy bundle. A few reasons are given for this such but it all comes down to securing good value and a lack of too many separate items flowing through the distribution network. Therefore, separate components will be shipping sometime later in 2008. Moreover it has been revealed that early on the PS3 version didn\’t look as good as the Xbox 360 version but now towards the later stages of development you can not tell the difference between the two versions.

The latest issue of GamePro magazine (Germany) has a wealth of new and exclusive information on Saints Row 2. The sequel is set 15 years after the original, there will be a co-op mode via both Xbox Live or the local network and the graphics have been improved with more meaningful weather effects.

The latest update denotes work is progressing on new maps for futue downloadable content and some hints are given in relation to a downloadable map which is said to be the scariest of all time as it is dark, frightening and surprisingly enormous.

Cnet: Is the Wii a fad or a flop? Perhaps neither but it will come third

Don Reisinger of Cnet has posted up a pretty hearty editorial on whether the Wii is a fad or perhaps just a flop. He comes to to the conclusion that perhaps it is neither, but just because the system is selling well it doesn\’t mean people are actually playing the console evidently backed up by the lack of software in the latest NPD charts for the US market. Reisinger concludes that if the Wii continues to position itself as a fun alternative to other consoles it will just find itself in third place because third party developers won\’t join in the fun too.

According to internet reports, the DVD forum is preparing to launch a new range of HD DVD recorders that have the capability to burn to standard definition media as well as new higher capacity 51GB disc configurations. A Toshiba technology adviser also revealed that the forum is close to finalization of a triple layer 51GB disc specification.
