Nintendo moving on from the typical screaming long haired nerd

In a recent conference, Nintendo\’s head of UK marketing presented how the ways gaming has traditionally been viewed as an addiction which removes the player from reality. A picture of a long haired nerd screaming while gripping his control pad was displayed, and Nintendo suggested it was looking for a different kind of audience and the company will promote self development, health, beauty and fitness.

Wii Owners rock harder than ‘hardcore’ PS3 and Xbox 360 owners

Taking a glance at the GH III leaderboards, the Wii scores are far above and beyond the Xbox 360 and PS3 scores. This is the first version of the game to hit the Wii, so in theory should be lower than the Guitar Hero veterans of the 360 and previously PS2.

The UK Community Manager at Ubisoft has confirmed that the team are actively working on a game update to resolve the freeze issues that PS3 owners are experiencing with Assassin\’s Creed. The upcoming update will bolster the stability of the game and will be released ASAP.

PS3 outsells Wii in Germany during October

The sales data is in for the month of October in Germany and for the first time ever, the PS3 leads the way. During October, the PS3 sold 37,000 units, compared to 28,000 for the Wii and the Xbox 360\’s 12,000 units.

The latest edition of PSM 3 suggests that Insomniac are hoping to release Resistance 2 in late 2008. Moreover, Sony are reportedly working hard to release Syphon Filter for the PS3 in 2009. Elsewhere, SF 4 won\’t look like the teaser trailer, NBA Ballers 3 will hit in April 2008, Sega has recruited Eurocom to develop the official Olympics game and there will be a Lego India Jones to coincide with the new movie.

Cnet awards 80GB PS3 a 8.6/10

Cnet has conducted a review on the 80GB PS3 SKU and has awarded it an overall score of 8.6/10. Their bottom line is that it is definitely a worthwile alternative to the cheaper SKU thanks to the larger hard drive and PS2 backwards compatibility, and providing you can wait for more quality titles to hit the shelves then you should go for it.

In conjunction with the Infectus, this new add-on will allow you to downgrade any current Xbox 360 kernel via the Timing Attack and run an exploitable one. From there on in you can get the CPU key, run linix, play around with keyvault and unban your console if need be and hopefully run homebrew.

Quality Assurance staffer talks Mass Effect random crashes

A member of the quality assurance team from Bioware has posted up a response to reports unreadable discs and random game crashes. The first solution offered involves clearing the Xbox cache whole the second is if the problem persists then to try and return the game for an exchange or ultimately contact MS for support.
