Nyko is the latest peripheral maker to dish out a Wii gun accessory. Their offering is titled the \’Perfect Shot\’ and is expected to go on sale in the New Year at a price of $14.99. Amazon are currently listing the product at $2 lower than the list price and say stock is expected within 4-6 weeks.
According to the Associated Press, Nintendo said it sold more Wii\’s last week than any other week since the console launched in late 2006. They sold 350,000 units last week compared to 300,000 for the previous week. The only time sales were higher than this figure were during an eight day period in November 2006. Reggie added a personal touch to these figures by stating that he couldn\’t find a single Wii on the shelves, as he walked into Wal-Mart someone was walking out with the last one and \’consumers are buying every game we can put into the system.\’
The DS sold over 191,000 units in a seven day period in the UK beating the PSP\’s previous record. The previous record for weekly hardware sales was around 185,000 units set by PSP when it launched on September 1st 2005.

Blu-ray has outsold rival HD DVD in Europe this year, breaking the 1 million barrier and constituting 73 percent of all HD movie discs sold. The Blu-ray camp have been blowing their own trumpet and said that if they included Blu-ray games the total would be exceeded 21 million units (which would be a tad misleading). They went on to say that Blu-ray said the best selling titles were 300, Spider-Man 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World\’s End.
Toms Hardware has branded the AI in Unreal Tournament 3 as a complete and utter joke, especially considering that the game comes from the likes of an update. Other negatives picked up on are that instead of a single player game, Epic could have retrained previously introduced game modes and introduce new ones.
Konami has posted an official news item on their site that indicates that the new patches for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of PES 2008 addresses the online lag and slowdown which affects the game. The PS3 patch also resolves an issue to do with downloading the game to the hard drive, but Konami reassure us that they are still working on improvements.

A Dutch PSP site has the scoop that Sony is to launch a brand new battery which is compatible with both the PSP orginal and the new PSP Slim & Lite. The new 2200mAh should offer 20% more power on older models and 80% more life on the Slim version. However, on the PSP Slim, the battery will bulge out so new battery covers will be included.
A teenager was arrested on Sunday after stealing an Xbox 360 console from his local Wal-Mart. Radcliff Police spokesman Bryce Schumate commented that thefts similar to the one Wal-Mart experienced are only going to happen more and more often in the run up to the Christmas holiday season.

MS of Japan recently held a press briefing which covered some of the new features that will be included in the Fall Dashboard update. One of the new features will be the ability to reshuffle the Game Blade which plays host to the Game Library instead of XBLA, achievements and player game sections. Elsewhere, the marketplace will be reduced to four categories, personal profiles will be added into gamer profiles and XBLA demos will be deleted from Gamercard listings.
