EA Australia offers refund to those who purchased Medal of Honor for Wii

EA Australia has stepped out to offer all those who purchased Medal of Honor 2 for the Wii a refund. They stated that the game supported online functionality in documentation and marketing materials but they made an error and will provide refunds due to the lack of online functionality as advertised.

Ubisoft: We have secret titles in development for Wii

Speaking to Wired, Yannis Mallat was asked about Ubisoft\’s plans for the Wii. Mallat reaffirmed that they are developing some Wii titles that must be kept a secret for now and there is room for big adventure games on the market as when you find the right balance, success will just follow on the Wii.

Nintendo: We are very confident the Wii has a solid future against 360/PS3

Speaking in a recent interview, Nintendo UK manager David Yarnton downplayed thoughts that the Wii will not have the same kind of longevity as the Xbox 360 and PS3 by stating that they are still in high demand and there is strong ongoing support from third party publishers. Yarnton also revealed that it is very important that they try and satify existing demand.

The two games joining the lineup this week are considered cult classics, yet they deal with topics as varied as farm management and shooting enemies to the strains of heavy-metal tunes. Just don’t get the two mixed up, since most livestock don’t like heavy metal and it takes more than turnips to defeat fire-spewing sea serpents.

Little Angels coming to Wii

A videogame based on a popular South American TV show called Chiquititas (Tiny Angels) is being developed for the Wii. The title will be powered by Emergent\’s Gamebryo engine which powers Civilization IV and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The game will be a platformer with puzzle elements.

Ubisoft announce ‘My Weight Loss Coach’ with included pedometer

Ubisoft announced today that it will publish \’My Weight Loss Coach\’ for the Nintendo DS. The game has been developed under the guidance of both a fitness coach and a nutritionist to create customized coaching sessions based on skill level. The game also comes with a Pedometer peripheral device.

Netflix goes Blu-Ray exclusive

Netflix, a by-mail DVD rental service, has announced that it will follow the lead of Hollywood studios and will exclusively stock Blu-ray DVDs. Netflix noted that the majority of its high-def disc rentals were for Blu-ray rather than HD-DVD. \”As of now (NetFlix) will purchase only Blu-ray discs and will phase out by roughly year\’s end the alternative high-def format, HD DVD, developed by Toshiba,\” the company said in a release.

Best Buy to recommend Blu-ray to confused customers

Best Buy has said it will be making moves to help consumers confused by high-def formats by recommending Blu-ray as the preferred format. \”Our decision to shine a spotlight on Blu-ray Disc players and other Blu-ray products is a strong signal to our customers that we believe Blu-ray is the right format choice for them\” said Brian Dunn, Best Buy\’s president and chief operating officer.
