FCC Report: Sony to change PSP parts

Sony has applied to the FCC to change the specifications of the PSP \”AK8PSP2001\”, which is thought to be the PSP-2000 series. There aren\’t many details on the changes as Sony has asked the FCC to keep them confidential, however it is believed that the changes will simply be for cost-reducing measures and does not indicate a new PSP series. The document states that \”we change parts other than a wireless module. This is not to cause any modification to the mentioned electric characteristics and RF characteristics.\”

MadCatz Xbox 360 HDMI conversion kit, too expensive, too late?

Gaming journalist Torence Davis has conducted a review on MadCatz\’ latest accessory - the Xbox 360 HDMI conversion kit that brings 1080p to the original HDMI-less Xbox 360 units. While it doesn\’t upconvert DVD\’s like it should do, its still a good solution for games. However at a price of $89, Davis believes if you have enough cash to buy this, then you should be able to puchase a HDMI enabled Xbox 360. Moreover, Davis speculates that this was released a bit too late to warrant a distinct need from consumers.

OXM asks who needs an MMO on the Xbox 360?

OXM US online has asked who needs an MMO on the Xbox 360? They pointed to a few theories that have been thrown about this week as follows - Console\’s can\’t handle MMO\’s, they\’re too expensive to create, previous attempts haven\’t been successful but the main reason they support is simply that console gamers\’ don\’t want to pay another subscription fee. To ask gamers to pay a fee on top of their Live access is a demand too far.

MS: Xbox 360 owners spend more on games, games play & sell better

Microsoft\’s Xbox 360 may have fallen behind the PS3 and Wii during the month of January, but MS have put on a happy face and emphasized two points. The first is that Xbox 360 owners spend more on games and drive the ecosystem, and also games play and sell better on the Xbox 360 as supported by facts such as CoD 4 on the Xbox 360 outsold the PS3 equivalent by 2:1.

NCAA Football set to make its debut on the Wii

Activision has began sending out pre-paid envelopes for customers to send back their Guitar Hero III discs which had audio issues. However customers will have to wait \”3 to 4 weeks\” to receive their new disc complete with Dolby digital surround sound.
