Family Ski coming to the U.S.

Namco Bandai announced recently that it will be releasing family Ski in North America this May under the name We Ski. We Ski can be played using only the Wiimote and Nunchuk, but if you have Wii Fit, you can also use the Balance Board to play. The Balance Board however, can only be used in single-player mode not multi player(which supports upto 4 players).

Datel on FreeLoader: It disables the console from updating firmware

Datel\’s customer support team has revealed a little more information on the upcoming Wii version of FreeLoader. They state that everytime it is used, it disables the console from being able to update its firmware. Datel also issued the complete box art (back and front).

Wii Guitar Hero replacement discs roll in

Gamers are reporting that they have already received the Wii Guitar Hero replacement discs. The discs fix sound issues as promised and take around 1-2 weeks to arrive following the filing of a claim form.

Red Octane taking orders for Les Paul Guitars

Red Octane is taking orders for Les Paul Guitar Hero III guitars on its website, with an ETA date of March 2008. This is great news for those who wanted a second guitar for the game and retails for $69.99. There is a limit of 1 guitar per customer.

Wii Free Loader features great compatibility, likely to have three versions

Divineo.co.uk has shot us over furter insider information regarding Datel\’s FreeLoader product for the Wii. So far, 41 Wii import games have been tested on a PAL console, 37 worked without problems while 4 required a firmware update to work. This is disbaled but to get these games to work on a lower firmware, you need to do a DOUBLE swap, ie re-insert FreeLoader then insert the game again to work. It is also beleived that there will be three versions of the software, one for each JAP/USA/EU, thus the images are likely not to be final and will have just one respective flag on the front.

MGS creator: 50GB Blu-ray capacity is too small, compromises needed

According to the creator of Metal Gear Solid, the 50GB Blu-ray disc capacity just isn\’t enough. He actually thinks the capacity is too small and some aspects of MGS 4 had to be comprimised in order to fit the game on the 50GB disc.

PS3 Crysis will be an almost 50% new game

According to the latest issue of UK magazine, PSW, PS3 Crysis will be an almost 50% new game. The magazine also states that many of the original games staff were taken off PC Crysis months before release to begin to work on Crysis 2 and a port to PS3. The PS3 version will apparently include aspects of the sequel - but a new structure, environments, weapons and enemies.

Proof of concept PSP emulator for PC available

OK it must be said, don\’t get too excited as this release can\’t do anything of great use yet. But, Soywiz has built a PSP emulator for the PC using a debugger with D programming language and DFL library. At the moment all it can do is perform some instructions and some BIOS calls, but who knows what may develop in a long time from now.

OCZ Prepares Neural Impulse Actuator for Shipping

An anonymous reader writes “Technology review site Overclock3D has received word that OCZ Technology is putting their neural impulse actuator (NIA) into mass production for shipping next week. The device, aimed at gamers, works by reading biopotentials. ‘These include activities of the brain, the autonomous nervous system and muscles — all of which are captured using embrace sensors located on the NIA’s headband, amplified and sent to the PC via USB 2.0.’ Users of the NIA will be able to control their in-game movements using only the power of mind. The device is priced at around $600USD”.
