An anonymous reader writes “In an adapted version of the Harry Potter video game, players lift boulders and throw lightning bolts using only their minds. Just as physical movement changed the interface of gaming with Nintendo’s Wii, the power of the mind may be the next big thing in video games. And it may come soon. Emotiv, a company based in San Francisco, says its mind-control headsets will be on shelves later this year, along with a host of novel “biofeedback” games developed by its partners. Several other companies — including EmSense in Monterey, California; NeuroSky in San Jose, California; and Hitachi in Tokyo — are also developing technology to detect players brainwaves and use them in next-gen video games.”.

Sony officialy announce price cut for some PS3 games

According to a French website, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has re-examined the price of some of its older Playstation 3 titles. Apparently the following titles will now cost 40 Euros: Resistance: Fall of Man, Lair, Folklore, One Championship Edition Formulated, MotorStorm, Ridge Racer 7, Heavenly Sword and Genji. However, it seems the games have been available at online retailers such as \’game\’ at this price for some time.

According to Kagari of the neogaf forums, GameStop are taking pre-orders for the limited edition of Metal Gear Solid 4 and it will cost $84.99. The limited edition will include a Blu-ray disc containing 2 \’making of\’ documentaries, an interview with Kojima, 4 chapters of the graphic novel and also a Metal Gear Import Soundtrack CD. Those who reserve the limited edition at GameStop will also get an exclusive Metal Gear Solid 4 artbook.

The ‘real reason’ why MS won’t bring Blu-ray to Xbox 360 - HDi

Terrence Russell believes he knows of a \’real reason\’ why MS won\’t be bringing Blu-ray to the Xbox 360 - HDi. While HDi on a disc is dead, MS reportedly hasn\’t abandoned the technology and they are exploring applications on other platforms. So Russell believes all that is needed is for content providers to be persuaded that HDi content and Microsoft\’s video services are crucual to making HD video downloads successful.

The latest Bungie weekly update reveals that the Halo 3 Heroic map pack will be available to download from Xbox Live for free from March 25th at 2 a.m PDT. They state that they have no plans to make available the upcoming Legendary maps for free.

Whatever game you are playing, you’re bad at it: There will always be someone better than you in the rankings, so don\’t try acting like a hot shot. 4. Turn off your goddamn mics!: Nobody wants to hear your muffled back ground music, so turn off your mic. 5. Stop Harassing Players for stupid stuff: Don\’t be mean to noobs. 6. According to a member of Neogaf, MS will not replace their Xbox 360 power supply unit because it is only covered by a three month warranty. Microsoft support have said they will have to pay $80 for a new PSU.

Mario Kart Wii wheel competitor revealed

Thrustmaster have revealed their \’T-Go Kart NW\’ steering wheel just in time for Mario Kart. The wheel was inspired by actual racing karts and \”is the first wheel to provide a sporty rubber grip for optimum comfort.\” The Wii Remote is placed in the top of the wheel which should allow easy access to the buttons and there is a hole in the side to allow the infra red pointer to work. The wheel is expected to retail for $9.99.
