Epic: No Wii games, we only invest in next-gen tech

Epic Games’ president, Mike Capps, has once again said that the company won\’t ever develop a game for the Nintendo Wii. Capps was asked if there would be a point where there are too many Wiis on the market for Epic not to make a game for it. He replied “no, we go forward, not back. It makes more sense for us to invest in the next-generation tech.”

Playboy cover babe at UK official launch of Wii Fit

Nell McAndrew will be one of the hosts at the Official Nintendo Wii Fit launch at London\’s South Bank on Wednesday, April 23. McAndrew was once a Lara Croft model but was fired from the job in 1999 after posing nude for the cover of Playboy. Sports presenter Gabby Logan will also be at the event.

PS3 Laptop auction curretly at US $23,600.00

Ben Heck\’s PS3 laptop is currently up for auction on ebay with the proceeds going to the National Cancer Coalition. The auction will end in about 5 days and the top bid is currently at US $23,600.00.

Metal Gear Online beta opens in UK and Europe

The Metal Gear Online beta has officially been opened to the UK & Europe. Some users have experienced some trouble logging into the beta, with it saying that their GAME ID and/or password was incorrect. It will apparently let you log in if you keep trying. There have also been other issues including being unable to connect to the server and being disconnected.

MS won’t return Xbox 360 even with proof of ownership

The Consumerist is reporting that Microsoft won\’t return a Xbox 360 to a customer as they believe she is a thief. MS, who have had the console since January, won\’t reply to a letter the customer sent to Microsoft which also included a credit card statement and original receipt as proof.

CrossOver Games for FreeBSD

An anonymous reader writes “Jeremy White from CodeWeavers has made the announcement that an experimental build of CrossOver Games is now available for PC-BSD users. However, this unsupported edition should also work on FreeBSD or DesktopBSD, allowing users to play Windows games on their desktop. The FreeBSD version of CrossOver Games can be downloaded here (registration required).” From the attached notes: “Remember this is an experimental build! If you are on FreeBSD 6.x, you will need to apply a system patch from http://wiki.freebsd.org/Wine to enable wine to function properly. Users of FreeBSD 7.0 and higher do not need this patch.”.
