Toys”R”Us fooling consumers with Wii stock claims

A consumer watchdog site is reporting that the Toys\”R\”Us\’ website is falsely claiming to have Wiis in stock. One consumer recently placed an order only to receive an email soon after telling him the Wii was unavailable and had been back ordered. The Toys\”R\”Us\’ website however is still listing the Wii as in stock.

Ubisoft investigating bringing Prince of Persia to Wii again

Ubisoft recently announced that a new Prince of Persia is scheduled to release towards the end of 2008 for the Xbox 360/PS3/PC but not for the Wii. Ubisoft have since said that they are investigating bringing the game back to the Wii but that it would never be a port and must take full advantage of Wii with fully optimized controls. Ubisoft also announced that Ubisoft it will release a Prince of Persia game specifically designed for the Nintendo DS system, featuring an entirely new storyline and new characters.

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars DLC: no plans for maps, weapons maybe

According to PSW magazine, id Software\’s Steve Nix has said that they do not currently have plans to add to the 12 maps \’Enemy Territory: Quake Wars\’ has because of the \”sheer complexities of MegaTexture.\” Nix didn\’t completely rule out DLC weapons but said that \”each map, weapon and character has been perfectly balanced through years of playtesting, so to throw something like a new weapon into the mix as a download could rumble years of work and upset the balance.\” PSW also said that \”the PS3 translation looks far better than the recommended-spec version on PC.\”
