Bushing is back with a new release - he has made a disc which should fix any NTSC Wii that got bricked by an Imported Mario Kart game or similar title. The package comes as an ISO file with an update partition and contains three files. Read all about it here.

Wii Fit to boost hardware sales 100%

According to analyst Kaufman Bros. analyst Todd Mitchell, the release of Wii Fit next month means we should see a 100% increase in hardware sales in May. Mitchell also believes that the launch of Wii Fit will lead to a 160%-plus increase in overall software sales.

Debug fimrware running on a retail PS3 unit

A gamer has managed to figure out a way to get PS3 debug firmware running on a retail console (claims he has tested on an 80GB and 40GB machine). It seems as if it is possible to update a higher retail firmware which restores the Blu-ray movie functionality. although some options seem t o be missing such as Media server options. Although it is possible to get the missing features back by putting the original HDD back in the PS3 and reformat it. However, this is all very risky stuff, so don\’t try it at home just yet!

Legendary PSP hacker Dark_Alex is not working on PS3 at the moment

PSP hacker and Dark_Alex\’s spokesperson Mathieulh has revealed that Dark_Alex is not currently working on hacking the PS3 in any way. What is displayed at his official website is merely a design change and D_A is still focusing on the PS3 and Math says if the hacker ever wises to work on the PS3 then we will all be told. His comments came a few days ago in this thread.

Rumor: Insider givers firmware 2.40 details

According to a supposed Sony insider, PS3 firmware v2.40 will \”let you access your XMB chat features from any game.\” It will also include \”2D trophies from the XMB where 70% of current titles will support them straight away\” and \”Video Coding and groundwork for the Movie Store (Out Sept).\” The source says that update should be released before MGS 4 is out but the features mentioned are not 100 percent guaranteed to make it into the update.

Haze review scores: Famitsu 34/40, PSM Italy 9/10

The first review scores for Haze have come in ahead of the games May 23rd release. Famitsu have given the game 34/40 and Playstation Magazine Italy have givent the game 9/10.

100 Xbox 360’s inlaid with mother-of-pearl being made for VIP gifts

Bill Gates recently gave a Xbox 360 inlaid with traditional Korean mother-of-pearl as a gift to the Korean president on a recent visit there. The Xbox was created by Kim Young-jun, the head of a manufacturing company called Gookbo. Microsoft were so impressed with the console they have asked Kim to make another 100 as VIP gifts. \”We\’re discussing making mother-of-pearl Microsoft logos,\” said Kim.
