EA: You should buy a PS3/360 and a Wii version of FaceBreaker

FaceBreaker producer Trey Smith was recently asked if there\’s anything special on the PS3/360 version of FaceBreaker that isn\’t in the Wii title. He remarked, that he truly believes there is a reason to pick up BOTH versions as with the Wii version you get a unique experience and with the 360/PS3 versions you get \”lightning fast gameplay and responsiveness, killer visuals, a best in show online experience\” and then some…

Nintendo faces patent lawsuit over touch screen technology

Reports indicate that Nintendo is currently litigating another federal patent lawsuit filed by an Illinois man. John Martin alleges that he patented touch screen and pointing device gaming technology originally.

Localized DS coming to Taiwan

The Thomson Financial indicates that Nintendo is to release what is known as a \’localized\’ version of the DS in Taiwan. The handheld will be released later on in this month in Taiwan and will be available at the end of the year in the Chinese market.

Is this the first look at the DS Widescreen?

Rumors indicate that a special E3 edition of the Nintendo Power magazine includes a mock shot of the widescreen DS handheld which is featured in an advert for Disgaea DS.

PS3 firmware v2.41 due this week?

Fatal Intertia EX comes to PSN this month

Sony: We pioneered modularisation of gaming, Wii is taking up what we started

Speaking as part of an article in which Australian IT indicate that add-ons are no longer on the periphery, Sony\’s Ephraim commented that they pioneered the modularisation of gaming. He commented - \”We respect what the Wii has done, which is taking up what we started. The market has broadened to the point that you have some very different markets.\”

Sony: PS3 games will now be unique and interesting

The President of Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida has revealed that he believes now in the second and third years of the PS3, we will start to see games that are really unique and interesting and will not focus just on the graphics. He also indicated that the PS3 should have a life cycle that is longer than the PS2 and they want to make it a really relevant system for another 10 years. More at ThreeSpeech.com.

UK repair specialist suggests there is no widespread Elite 360 RRoD problem

A customer service manager at a leading UK console repair company has told a publication that \”I can\’t really comment on that story in today\’s Mirror. All I can say is that we have had very few Elites in for repair since they launched last year.\” With a bit more time, we\’ll know for sure if these stories about huge amounts of Xbox 360 Elite RRoD repairs are excessivley stretching the truth.
