Shigeru Miyamoto has said that the \”concept that Wii intentionally does not cater to core gamers is probably a misconception, and perhaps one that’s almost a PR tactic used by some of the other companies to paint us as a company that’s not targeting core gamers.\” Miyamoto added that they are working on plenty of titles for the core gamer but that E3 is not the type of event to showcase these games.

David Reeves of SCEE has confirmed that PlayTV is set fo a September 10th release in the UK and will be rolled out across the rest of Europe ranging from the months of September to December. He also confirmed that you will be able to record TV while playing games!

Sony PR manager Ron Eagle recently spoke about Microsoft getting Final Fantasy XIII saying that if \”Microsoft wants to back up the dump truck full of money, there\’s not a whole lot that can be done there.\” He added that since the game is being developed first for the PS3, the experience is probably going to be better on the PS3 than it will be on the 360.

SCEE president David Reeves has said that Play TV will be launching in Europe from September to December and will also hit the UK on September 10th. Reeves confirmed that the PlayTV twin-channel DVB-T tuner peripheral with digital video recorder (DVR) software will allow users to record TV while playing games. Reeves also revealed that they\’ve \”got Australia and New Zealand also lined up for it in January or February, because on their digital terrestrial they haven\’t actually set the standards yet.\”
